Mersuka Dopazo

Mersuka Dopazo

Born 1971, Las Palmas de la Gran Canaria, she lives and works in Bali.

Mersuka Dopazo is a self-taught artist who acts like an anthropologist. Her work is dedicated to the people she interacts with or observes. She examines their culture, everyday life and surrounding world. From her constant travelling, she gathers textures, textiles and colors which she later applies in her work. Women are the main source of inspiration in her work, and she frequently portrays them.
