The first edition of ARTFEM, Women Artists International Biennial of Macau, was opned to public between March 8 and May 13th, 2018.
The visitors’ numbers are encouraging. The exhibition “My Chinese Zodiac” by Portuguese artist Raquel Gralheiro at Albergue SCM received an average of 3,000 visitors for two months. The main exhibition of 142 works by 132 women from the 1970s to the present at the Macau Museum of Art has reported nearly 8,000 visitors throughout the Biennale’s show.
The main show included the painting “Nossa Senhora das Dores” by Paula Rego.

These are encouraging numbers for ARTFEM‘s organization and good indicators that there is a local audience who shows interest and engages with international art.
