With ARTFEM 2020 on the way, Albergue SCM is currently exhibiting the “Twisted Landscapes” exhibition by Zhang Zhengmin, at the A2 Gallery. This initiative is part of the Cultural Cooperation and Exchange Program between Albergue SCM and the People’s Republic of China. It displays 22 works by artist Zhang Zhengmin. After this exhibition, ARTFEM 2020 will be launched in Albergue SCM.
About the artist
Zhang Zhengmin was born in Jiangsu, China, in 1962. He graduated from the Department of Chinese Painting of China Academy of Fine Arts, majoring in Chinese figure painting in 1989. In 2000, he completed a postgraduate course in Chinese Figure Painting in the same department. He is currently Professor and Master Adviser of the Nanjing Normal University and the Director of the Art Museum of School of Fine Arts, Nanjing Normal University.
According to critic Li Xiaoshan, “the works of Zhang Zhengmin focus on the overall effect, without losing sight of the details. Ink painting is a field of experimentation, and Zhang is one of the artists who yields positive results in the field. He presents skills, image and expression in the integrity of the images while offering a fresh perspective”.
